Message from the artist:

Each colour has been specifically chosen from our own backyard, and each with a specific purpose. While walking through the hills one day I took pictures of our bushland being rejuvenated and thriving after a bushfire. These four colours were very prominent, especially amongst the charcoal left behind. This made me think about our people, we have been through so much, physically, emotionally and spiritually, yet we are still standing here thriving.

On a burnt tree, covered in charcoal seeped through the red sap healing the tree and preparing it for a new and fresh beginning. The water from the rain, streams and rivers nurtured our plants and animals ensuring their survival. Once the tree was rid of its burnt bark, underneath was the ochre yellow, durability of the tree was there all along. And finally, the green leaves flourished at every chance.
